Got Blackbirds?

The National Sunflower Association of Canada is looking for producers to fill out a survey assessing damage to their sunflower crops from blackbirds.

The association is working with the Mani toba Agr icul tural Services Corporation to establish a crop insurance plan for blackbird damage in sunflower fields.

“It is important that sunflower producers who are affected by blackbirds conduct this survey in order to demonstrate the damage that occurs in sunflower fields across the province,” says an email notice from the association’s office. “The survey is very straightforward and should only take 30 to 40 minutes to complete.”
