Dekalb Launches Mobile Application

Dekalb seed is launching a new mobile application, available for download and use on a wide variety of BlackBerry(R) devices. The Dekalb Plant Population Calculator App provides corn and soybean farmers with recommended planting populations for their crops.

Once downloaded to their BlackBerry device, the application will provide farmers with a recommended planting population for their crop.

In addition to selecting their crop, users of the Dekalb Plant Population Calculator App select their soil type and row width as part of the steps required to generate a plant population recommendation. There are also a number of crop-specific variables that users of the App will be prompted to select as they work their way through the App steps to generate a specific planting recommendation for their corn or soybean crops.

The Dekalb Plant Population Calculator App is available in English and French and can be downloaded to a BlackBerry device by visiting www.dekalbmobile.ca.
