Our meeting was held March 9. Business began with the announcement that we could reschedule the leather clinic we missed due to weather. There still was a lot of interest in having the clinic, so it was held on March 20. We learned the processes of tanning and various machines and tools used in the industry. After we had a knowledge of the tools, we were able to make belts for ourselves. There were a lot of different patterns and themes on the belts. Thanks to Peter and Rina Schueler for taking the time and effort to allow our club this experience.

Zone speeches were held March 13 in Neepawa. Our club had two brave volunteers go to present their speeches.

Our second weigh day was March 21 at the Horner ranch. Members brought their beefies, and weights were recorded. Competition looks to be extremely serious so far. After the animals were weighed we went inside for lunch and a visit.

We will have our judging and showmanship clinic on May 8 at the Rapid City rodeo grounds. Members are to bring their animals – preferably halterbroke – and participate in judging cattle and showmanship.

Directly following the meeting, members who were in need of new rope halters, made them. To the members participating in this year’s Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, good luck in all your classes!
