Fall Feast

Come the autumn, I’m a chipmunk and the neighbours think I’m nuts – jamming, jelling, freezing, storing, drying – but what’s the use of wasting time and food in vain? So I’m filling up my baskets with the “fragments that remain.” Putting up the pickles and putting down preserves I’m chattering profusely of abundance undeserved.
